Endorsements
The Harnett County Bar is pledging its unanimous support for Judge Charles Bullock as District Court Judge for the 11th Judicial District. The local bar recently voted on a resolution supporting Judge Bullock, with the measure passing by unanimous consent.
Dunn attorney Vernon Stewart, who sponsored the resolution, said Judge Bullock is the right man for the job. "He's an exceptionally fair-minded and even-tempered jurist," Stewart said. "He would serve this community well."
Local attorney Tilghman Pope said that Judge Bullock was a solid choice for the bench. "Judge Bullock possesses a good judicial temperament and is professional and courteous with all persons who encounter our justice system, and he is deliberative in the decisions he makes from the bench in trying to render fair and equitable decisions that are consistent with applicable law," Pope said.
Judge Bullock expressed gratitude for the show of support, and vowed to live up to the expectations of his colleagues. "I am deeply honored that my colleagues in the Harnett County Bar saw fit to back my candidacy and I will make every effort to demonstrate to the public that their trust in me is well placed," Judge Bullock said.
Robert Frey, president of the Harnett County Bar, said he hopes the bar's endorsement will help Judge Bullock secure his seat. "Judge Bullock has served the citizens of Harnett County well and I am certain he will continue to do so in the future," Frey said.
Judge Bullock, a former Assistant District Attorney for Harnett County, was appointed to a newly-created judgeship in January by Governor Mike Easley. The seat rotates among the three counties comprising the 11th Judicial District, including Lee County, Johnston County, and Harnett County.
